Story

Five short films, all made during the lockdown in India at the time of the coronavirus pandemic, that deal with topics such as 'hope' and 'new beginnings'; they're all about family and friend relationships, even when the world sinks into fear.

Review

This is the one-line story of Balaji Mohan's Mugakavasa Mutham . Sentiment is Balaji's solid suit. He doesn't over-improve it, yet keeps it light with his trademark humor. Be that as it may, in spite of the jokes, the feelings of the characters (basically the fundamental characters) in his movies don't appear to be silly.

Notwithstanding, the short feels cloyingly charming and agonizingly conventional. For instance, we get to know that Kuyili (Gouri G. Kishan as a lesser cop) is a great individual in light of the fact that each time she sees a rescue vehicle, she quickly mumbles a supplication.

The around 25-minute film invests a large portion of its energy showing the ordinary struggles of police and other cutting edge laborers during the pandemic. Or possibly that is what the future holds. For example, Murugan (Teejay Arunasalam as the other junior cop) hurls his lathi in disappointment and says, "What an unpleasant work!" when two individuals in a vehicle contend with him for not allowing them to wander indiscriminately. Yet, at no other point in the film do we see him or Kuyili or the other cutting edge laborers in an unpleasant circumstance. They scarcely look tired and generally appear to live it up, kidding and giggling.

Indeed, even the plot of the other two or three feels insignificant. The kid needs to meet the young lady, who will get strongly hitched by her folks. In any case, we don't feel their distress to meet one another. Thus, we don't get why Murugan, Kuyili, and a few other forefront wellbeing laborers, forsake their obligation to join the couple.

Since this is a 'vibe decent collection', we get a fantasy finishing with a kiss canvassed in careful veils (since, indeed, the title is… Get it? Get it?)
